Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced

Directions

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat until light brown, then pour into a large bowl. Cover and chill 30 minutes, stirring once.

  2. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, beat together browned butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and eggs with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in flour mixture until well combined. Fold in apples, then spread batter evenly in prepared baking dish.

  4. Bake until a toothpick inserted into center comes out with moist crumbs clinging, about 45 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack to cool.
