Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • White chocolate melting wafers, melted according to package directions
  • White pearl nonpareils

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter with a mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add confectioners’ sugar, salt and vanilla, and increase speed to medium-high; beat until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add flour in two additions, beating just until combined. Add pecans, beating just until combined. Turn out dough, and shape into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.

  2. Preheat oven to 325. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a 4-inch Christmas tree cutter, cut dough, rerolling scraps as necessary. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on prepared pans.

  4. Bake until edges are lightly browned, about 18 minutes. Let cool completely on wire racks.

  5. Pipe melted white chocolate onto cookies to resemble garland and sprinkle with nonpareils, gently shaking off excess. Let stand until chocolate has set.
