Bagna Cauda Pasta

Serves 4 people

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 7 anchovy fillets
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Grated parmesan to taste


  1. Set pasta to boil

  2. Add butter and olive oil to large pan, melt over medium heat and add garlic, cook till golden

  3. Add anchovy fillets and smash with a wooden spatula. Stir and then add the lemon juice.

  4. Cook pasta until almost done, then use tongs to lift pasta from the pot into the pan and let simmer a little with the sauce. Add up to 1/2 cup pasta water if needed.

  5. Serve with ground pepper, maybe a bit more lemon juice, and grated parmesan

  6. 4 servings, about 600 calories per
