  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp pure maple syrup


  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, eggs, and maple syrup. Pour wet ingredients into the dry flour mixture and stir until just combined (a few lumps are just fine).

  2. Pour batter into a buttered or sprayed 8×8 baking dish. Bake cornbread at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
