Black Pepper Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Top with a wire rack; spray rack with cooking spray.

  2. In a shallow dish, place brown sugar. Dredge bacon slices in brown sugar; place on prepared rack. Sprinkle slices with any remaining brown sugar. Sprinkle all over with pepper.

  3. Bake until sugar is caramelized and bacon is crisp, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes on rack; let drain on paper towels before serving.
