Chewy Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. light-color corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped semisweet chocolate

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In a large bowl, beat together butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer 30 seconds. Beat in brown and white sugars until smooth. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then add corn syrup, water and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture, then fold in chocolate pieces. Drop by 3-tbsp portions 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

  3. Bake until edges are golden, 11-12 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
