Garlic-Herb Flatbreads

Ingredients

  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • Vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Saute garlic in butter in a skillet over low heat until lightly golden. Whisk flour with baking powder and kosher salt i a large bowl. Make a well in the center; add water, parsley and garlic. Stir to combine. Cover loosely and let rest 15 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 pieces. With floured hands, roll each piece of dough into a ball, then stretch into a 4-inch round. Working in batches, shallow-fry the dough in vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning once, until puffed and golden, 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
