chocolate candy rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 table shortening
  • 4 tea cocoa
  • 2 table evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tea vanilla
  • candy thermometer

Directions

  1. in a bowl mix sugar, shortening and cocoa

  2. mix well and pour into saucepan

  3. bring to a boil and simmer til temp is 275 on candy thermometer

  4. allow to cool for 10 min.

  5. add evaporated milk and vanilla

  6. use electric mixer and beat til very thick

  7. scrape candy onto lightly greased cookie sheed and allow to cool.

  8. when cool mold into desired size and shape
