Cheddar Thyme Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole buttermilk
  • 6 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together buttermilk and melted butter.

  2. In another large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture to buttermilk mixture, whisking to combine. Stir in cheese and thyme.

  3. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a 2-inch cutter, cut dough, rerolling scraps as needed. Refrigerate biscuits on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet until ready to use.
