Strawberry Layer Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 10-oz pkg frozen sliced strawberries
  • 1 3-oz pkg strawberry jello
  • 1 c water, hot
  • 1 c whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 10" tube angel food cake

Directions

  1. Drain strawberries, reserving 1/2 c syrup.

  2. Dissolve jello in hot water, add reserved syrup.

  3. Chill until partially set.

  4. Beat mixture until light and fluffy.

  5. Fold in whipped cream.

  6. Chill until of spreading consistency.

  7. Transfer 1 1/2 c of mixture to small bowl. Fold in drained strawberries.

  8. Split cake crosswise making 3 equal layers.

  9. Fill between layers with strawberry mixture. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining whipped cream mixture. Garnish with fresh strawberries.
