Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 6 oz. cooled melted semisweet chocolate

Directions

  1. Beat butter and salt with a mixer on medium-high speed until fluffy, 2 minutes. Gradually beat in sugar on low speed until combined.

  2. Add cocoa powder and vanilla and beat on medium-high speed until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in chocolate until smooth and fluffy, 2 to 3 more minutes.

  3. Spread the frosting on the cake. Refrigerate 30 minutes before serving.
