(from castro15’s recipe box)

Categories: Dressing/Sauces

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh mixed berries
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/3 to 2/3 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Mash berries in a small saucepan with a potato masher. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until berries are soft and juicy, about 5 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a measuring cup, discarding solids. Return liquid to saucepan with an equal amount of sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer until just syrupy, about 1 minute. Skim off any form.
