Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 4 chicken breast halves
  • 24 oz. jar marinara
  • 4 slices mozzarella
  • Hot cooked pasta

Directions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, pepper and salt. In another bowl, combine egg and water. Dip the chicken into egg mixture, then into crumb mixture to coat both sides, patting to help coating adhere.

  2. Transfer chicken to a slow cooker. Pour sauce over chicken. Cook, covered, on LOW until cooked through, 4 to 6 hours.

  3. Top with cheese slices and cook, covered, until the cheese is melted, 10-15 minutes. Serve with hot cooked pasta.
