Ingredients

  • 1 lb. boneless sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp coffee granules
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Place the steak in a Ziploc bag. In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, coffee granules, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and pepper flakes. Pour half of the mixture over the steak and seal. Toss back and forth and refrigerate 8 hours or up to 48 hours, turning occasionally. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade.

  2. Heat a grill pan coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the bag, discard the marinade in the bag and cook 4 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Place on cutting board and let stand 3 minutes before thinly slicing.

  3. Meanwhile, place the reserved marinade and the salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat and boil 1 1/2-2 minutes or until reduced to 2 tbsp. Drizzle over sliced beef.
