McDonald’s Sausage Egg McMuffin

Ingredients

  • 4 English muffins, cut in half horizontally
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 tbsp oil
  • 1 lb. ground pork, minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage, ground
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white sugar
  • 4 large 1/3" onion ring slices
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 300.

  2. Cover one half of muffin with cheese, leaving one half uncovered. Transfer both halves to a baking tray. Place in oven.

  3. For the sausage patties, use your hands to mix pork, sage, thyme, onion powder, pepper, salt and sugar in a bowl. Form into 4 patties. Make sure they are slightly lightly than the muffins.

  4. Heat oil in a pan. Cook patties on both sides for at least 2 minutes each or until all sides turn brown. Remove tray of muffins from oven. Place cooked sausage patties on top of the cheese on muffins. Return tray to the oven.

  5. In the same pan, position onion rings flat into a single layer. Crack one egg inside each of the onion rings to make them round. Add water carefully into the sides of the pan and cover. Cook for 2 minutes.

  6. Remove tray of muffins from the oven. Add eggs on top of patties, then top with the other muffin half.

  7. Serve warm.
