Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp cornmeal

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together 1 1/4 cups warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.

  2. In the work bowl of a food processor, place flour and salt; pulse until combined. With processor running, add yeast mixture and oil in a slow, steady stream until mixture forms a ball.

  3. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 2 minutes.

  4. Spray a medium bowl with cooking spray. Place dough in bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

  5. Sprinkle a 16-inch round baking sheet with cornmeal.

  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into an 16-inch circle. Place on prepared pan.
