Orange chicken

We usually double the sauce. We love the sauce :)

Ingredients

  • 3lbs chicken, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 4 beaten eggs with a little milk
  • oil (to deep fry)
  • Sauce:
  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • (we usually double this recipe)

Directions

  1. Beat 4 eggs together and add a little milk.

  2. Mix cornstarch, flour and garlic powder together.

  3. Dip chicken pieces in the flour then egg.

  4. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.

  5. Place chicken in casserole dish.

  6. Sauce:

  7. Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and ingredients are blended

  8. Pour sauce over chicken

  9. Bake for 45 mins or until chicken is cooked thoroughly. @ 350 degrees, covered for 40 mins and remove foil for last 5 mins.
