eggnog

Ingredients

  • 12 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 C super fine sugar-Beat in mixer-medium speed
  • 1/2 C dark rum-add-beat on low
  • cognac 1/2 bottle beat in mixer
  • 3 C bourbon
  • Pour mixture into larger bowl.
  • Add1/2 quart heavy cream into empty mixing bowl
  • Then add another 1/2 quart heavy cream
  • into bowl with alcohol mixture
  • Add 1/4 gallon of milk into mixing bowl-beat on low
  • Add to serving bowl
  • Before you serve then:
  • Beat 12 egg whites, adding nutmeg and sugar if you want and 1/2 t vanilla
  • Dollop on top with large spoonfuls and fold in some of meringue into mixture
  • Grate some nutmeg on top
