Walnut cake with brown butter frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C butter browned and let cool
  • Cake
  • Chop 1 1/2 C walnuts. Set aside
  • Sift together
  • 1 1/2 c cake flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 t salt
  • Add. 1 C sugar
  • Separately
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • Add walnuts
  • 4 eggs whisked
  • 1/2 c room temp milk
  • 1c canola
  • Add walnuts into wet ingredients
  • Slowly pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients
  • Frosting:
  • Browned butter creamed
  • 2 c sifted confectionary sugar
  • Cream

Directions

  1. Bake cake in 2 prepared cake pans at 350 for 25 minutes

  2. Frosting only enough for middle layer and top. Not sides
