French bread 1/2024

Ingredients

  • 1 T plus 1 t active dry yeast
  • 2 C warm water
  • 1 T sugar
  • Bloom
  • Dough:
  • Mixer with dough hook:3 C all purpose flour
  • 2 t kosher salt=mix
  • Pour yeast mixture into flour mixture
  • ADD
  • another 2 C flour
  • MIX 5 minutes until dough climbs the hook

Directions

  1. Let rise about 30-45 minutesin greased bowl covered with towel

  2. Divide in half

  3. Form into rectangle on floured board

  4. Roll into 2 loaves-

  5. Put on parchment paper

  6. Cut slits on top

  7. Let rise 25-30 minutesButter and salt top while hot
