“Kanish”—walnut cinnamon biscotti

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Wesson oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup crushed walnuts
  • 3.5 cups flour
  • cinnamon sugar

Directions

  1. in large bowl combine flour and baking powder. In medium bowl, mix eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla

  2. make a well in the flour mixture.

  3. Add beaten ingredients and combine to form dough.

  4. Add walnuts an d incorporate well.

  5. Let rest for 20- 30 minutes.

  6. Shape into logs (3 usually).

  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

  8. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

  9. Cut diagonally .5 – .75 inch slices.

  10. Return to oven. Toast to preferred doneness- try 7-8 minutes a per side.
