Wheatberry Delight

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat
  • 2 cups water

Directions

  1. Bring wheat to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer between 1 to 1 hour 15 minutes.

  2. Drain and add the following: 8 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained

  3. 1/2 cup craisins

  4. 1/3 cup walnut pieces

  5. 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds, dry roasted, unsalted

  6. Consider adding some of the following:

  7. Apples, raisins, celery, green onions, grated carrot, cinnamon, olive oil and/or Balsamic vinegar…. Be creative!

  8. Note: 1 cup dry wheat makes 2 cups boiled wheat.
