Zesty Ginger Lime Steamer

This warming drink offers all the digestive benefits of ginger and mint.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons minced ginger root
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 4 cups purified water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • Fresh slices of lime

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the ginger root, lime juice, water, and honey. Bring just to a boil, stirring often. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chopped mint leaves and lime zest. Cover and allow to steep for 30 minutes.

  2. Strain the liquid into a storage container. (This may be prepared up to three days in advance). When ready to serve, warm the liquid until steaming, pour into individual cups and serve. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lime slices.
