Mushroom Caps

Great as appetizers for a party or serve with a big juicy steak and salad

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large white mushrooms
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 c parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 c bread crumbs
  • salt, pepper, basil (I rarely measure seasonings)

Directions

  1. Do not wash mushrooms under water, wipe clean with a damp paper towel

  2. Pop out stems, leaving a good-sized hollow; finely dice the stems.

  3. In skillet, saute diced mushroom stems and garlic in 1 stick of butter until mushroom is very soft.

  4. In mixing bowl, combine cheese, bread crumbs, and seasonings to taste.

  5. Pour sauteed mixture over dry mixture, blend.

  6. Spoon mixture into the hollow of the mushrooms.

  7. a cookie sheet, bake 10-12 minutes at 400.
