Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large cabbage or 2 small
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • Pepper
  • Water

Directions

  1. In large pot, saute bacon until brown.

  2. In the meantime, core and cut up cabbage.

  3. Once bacon is done, put cabbage in pot with small amount of water (just enough to create some steam and keep cabbage from burning. Pepper according to taste (I like lots of pepper) and cook on medium for about 20 mins, stirring occasionally. Add a little water as necessary.

  4. In the meantime, wash and cut up potatoes (I don’t peel unless very ugly skins; personal preference here). Add to cabbage and cook an additional 20 mins or until potatoes are tender.
