Cherry Chocolate Chip Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups original Bisquick
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped dried cherries
  • 1/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/3 cup whipping (heavy) cream
  • 1 egg
  • about 1 tablespoon milk
  • about 2 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Grease cookie sheet.

  3. Mix Bisquick, cherries, chocolate chips, 3 tablespoons sugar, the whipping cream and egg until soft dough forms.

  4. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick; roll in Bisquick to coat.

  5. Shape into a ball; knead 10 times.

  6. Pat dough into 8 inch circle on cookie sheet.

  7. Brush dough with milk; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar.

  8. Cut into 8 wedges but do not separate.

  9. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  10. Carefully separate wedges.

  11. Serve warm
