Turkey Cranberry Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons whole wheat couscous
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon fresh sage or 1/2 teaspoon dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground turkey

Directions

  1. Pour water over couscous. Let sit 5 minutes.

  2. Cook onion 1 minute, add celery, cook 3 minutes. Add thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Cook about 20 seconds more. Transfer mix into bowl with couscous. Add cranberries and stir.

  3. Cool 5 minutes. Add turkey and stir. Form into 6 patties.

  4. Grill until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
