My mother was a cook and housekeeper for a wealthy family during the depression…yes the one in the 1930’s. She discovered this recipe then.

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • -
  • COFFEE SYRUP:
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • 1 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Boil coffee and sugar together for 10 minutes.

  2. Mix two tablespoons syrup, dip of vanilla ice cream and 1 cup milk.

  3. Blend together until smooth, then top with additional ice cream or whipped cream.
