Ingredients

  • PART 1:
  • 1 package Duncan Hines yellow "butter" recipe cake mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 4 eggs
  • -
  • PART 2:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • -
  • PART 3:
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

  1. TIP: I have discovered that this cake is better if baked in a “shiny” surfaced tube pan rather than the usual dark black finish or so many bundt pans.

  2. PART 1: Combine first four ingredients in mixing bowl. Beat according to mix directions.

  3. PART 2: Stir sour cream and pecans into batter.

  4. PART 3: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

  5. Pour 1/4 of batter into greased and floured 10 inch tube or bundt pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  6. Pour remaining batter into pan.

  7. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.

  8. Remove from pan and finish cooling on wire rack.

  9. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
