Rawa (Semolina/Sooji ) Rotti [Karnataka Special]

Ingredients

  • 1 cup medium/fine Rawa
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup water
  • salt
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2-3 green chilies chopped
  • curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely onion chopped(if made during fasting days then skip onion)
  • coriander leaves chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp oil

Directions

  1. Take a mixing bowl,add all the ingredients except oil and water.mix properly with hands.

  2. Knead it using little by little water.finally add 2 tsp of oil and knead properly for 3-4 minutes.keep it aside for 5 minutes.

  3. Take a plastic sheets or non sticky sheets, grease this sheet.

  4. Take one tennis ball size ball of rawa dough and tapping with hand press it into 5" round rotti on the sheet.

  5. Heat the griddle and put 1/2 tsp of oil at the centre and spread.now when the griddle is hot put these rotti and cook on medium flame till rotti is cooked properly.

  6. When brown color spots puffs u on both sides remove this rotti from griddle.

  7. Serve hot with coconut chutney or any spicy chutney or with curd.
