Ingredients

  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli power
  • 8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water to prevent burning
  • 4 desiree potatoes, peeled
  • 1/4 cup trim milk
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-fat spread
  • steamed broccoli and carrots to serve

Directions

  1. Preheat chargrill. Combine mince, onion, oregano, cumin and chilli. Divide into 8 even portions. Use your hands to shape each into a smallish sausage shape.

  2. Insert a skewer through the meat and squeeze firmly to secure. Chill until ready to use.

  3. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash, adding milk and spread, until smooth.

  4. Cook skewers for 7 minutes, turning frequently, or until cooked. Serve with mashed potato and steamed veges.
