Apple Pie

Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen deep dish pie crusts
  • 6 cups of peeled and thinly sliced apples
  • 1 tblsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tblsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp melted butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice

  3. In a large bowl mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  4. Gently toss apples in cinnamon mix until coated

  5. Transfer to pie crust

  6. Lay 2nd pie crust on top of pie mash edges with fork to seal seam.

  7. Cut 3-4 slits in top to vent

  8. Brush melted butter over entire top and then cover edges of pie with aluminum foil to protect from burning

  9. Bake for 45 min with foil on

  10. Remove foil and continue cooking for 15 more minutes
