Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 3 C. Flour
  • 2 Tbs Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 pkg. Active dry yeast
  • 2 Tbs Vegetable oil
  • 1 C warm water for yeast

Directions

  1. Put 1 C. of water in the microwave and bring to a boil. Leave in microwave. This will provide a warm, moist place for the dough to rise. (# 8)

  2. Blend together 1 C. flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in large mixer bowl

  3. Add oil and water and beat 2 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed

  4. Add 1/2 C. flour and beat at high for 1 minute

  5. Put dough hook on mixer and add remaining flour, mixing until dough leaves the sides of the bowl and flour is all worked in (add 1 to 2 tbsp. water gradually if too dry)

  6. Knead with mixer using dough hook on medium speed for 5 minutes

  7. Place ball of dough in a greased bowl and turn over once in bowl to lightly coat all sides with shortening

  8. Place bowl with dough in microwave. Let rise in microwave for 10 min.. DO NOT TURN ON MICROWAVE.

  9. Grease pizza pan and dust with corn meal

  10. Punch down dough and spread the dough on the pan, Cover with plastic wrap and label. Refrigerate separately with prepared toppings.
