Lillian Hellman’s Pot Roast

Ingredients

• 4 lb piece of beef, the more expensive the better
• 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
• 1 envelope of dried onion soup
• 1 large chopped onion
• 2 cloves chopped garlic
• 2 cups red wine
• 2 cups of water
• 1 bay leaf, crushed
• 1 tsp thyme and basil

Directions

1. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven until tender, 3 1/2 hrs or so.
