Creamy Hashbrown Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/4 butter, plus more for dish
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 16 ounce container sour cream
  • 1 10-12 ounce can cream of celery soup
  • 1 8 ounce pkg shredded cheddar and monterey jack cheese blend
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 30 ounce pkg frzn shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 cups crushed plain original potatoe chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 deg. Lightly butter a casserole dish.

  2. In a small skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat.

  3. Add onion, and cook 3-4 min, or until soft.

  4. Pour mixture into a large bowl.

  5. Add sour cream, cream of celery soup, cheese, garlic powder, hash browns, and salt and pepper.

  6. Combine until well blended.

  7. Pour mixture into prpared baking dish.

  8. Top evenly with crushed potato chips and bake 45 min, or until hot and bubbly.
