Ingredients

  • 1. Ruhi fish : 6pieces
  • 2. Garlic : 1 piece (paste)
  • 3. Tomato puree : 1/2 cup
  • 4. Salt : to taste
  • 5. Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
  • 6. Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  • 7. Mustard oil : 1 cup
  • 8. Whole cumin seeds : 1 tsp

Directions

  1. Marinate the fish with ½ tsp of turmeric powder & 1 tsp of salt for 1 hour.
  2. Heat 1 cup of mustard oil in a wok.
  3. Fry the marinated fish & keep aside.
  4. In the remaining oil add whole cumin seeds.
  5. When it changes colour add garlic paste. Stir in the low flame.
  6. Add ½ tsp of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, tomato puree, salt & stir for a minute.
  7. Add ½ cup of water & fried fishes. Stir & cook till the gravy thickens.
  8. Remove from heat & serve with steamed rice or polao.
