Ingredients

  • Eckrich (or your favorite brand) Sausage or even homemade
  • Brown Paper Bag (yes, grocery store brown paper bag)

Directions

  1. First you need to have a good bed of coals, don’t try this with a flaming fire.

  2. Get some Eckrich type sausage. Wrap it very tightly in several layers of thick brown paper, like a brown paper sack from the grocery store. (Be sure if there is any ink/printing on the paper it is not next to the sausage.)

  3. Bury the wrapped sausage completely in the coals. If you do this right, only the very outer layer of paper will char, and only slightly. The cover of ashes keep the oxygen away and will not allow the paper to catch on fire. If you really don’t trust this…then just wrap your sausage in foil and bury in coals…not nearly as impressive and fun.

  4. Cook for about 20 minutes.

  5. Pull out of coals, carefully unwrap and eat.
