Ingredients

  • Hamburger Patty
  • Seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic salt)
  • Assorted Vegetables (frozen veggies work best, canned potatoes work best)

Directions

  1. TIP: This can be just about any combination of vegetables, seasonings, etc. Listed are basic instructions plus suggestions and ideas of various seasonings. Make an assembly line of your various ingredients and let each person go down the line choosing their own ingredients. Write names on a clean dry place on the foil pack with a sharpie marker. Use double thickness of foil even if you use heavy duty foil. When sealing pouch be sure to leave air space. Add a couple tablespoons water or liquid bouillon. There are lots of internet videos showing you how to make a foil pack.

  2. Place your hamburger patty in the center of foil to be used as your foil pack. This can be a pre-formed patty or one you made yourself.

  3. Season meat with any or all of the following: salt, pepper, garlic salt, ketchup, parsley flakes, Worcestershire sauce, etc.

  4. Pile any or all of the following on top of patty: grated raw carrots, canned cut up potatoes, sliced onion, frozen mixed vegetables, “Little Ear” frozen corn, etc. Adding a little extra liquid like beef bouillon cube dissolved in water will help with cooking and steaming.

  5. Seal your dinner up in the foil, being sure to leave plenty of air space for steam and food to expand.

  6. Write your name on your foil pack with a sharpie. The foil has to be dry to write on.

  7. Freeze.

  8. Thaw. Cook over coals about 30-40 minutes turning every 10 minutes. If you don’t thaw then it will burn on the outer edges and be uncooked in the center.

  9. Be sure to let cool slightly before opening to eat.
