Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Don’t tell your guests what’s in the crust. Make them guess.
Put the pretzels in a big plastic baggie and crush with a rolling pin.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups pretzels crushed
  • 3/4 cup butter melted
  • 6 ounce package strawberry jello
  • 1 16 ounce bag frozen strawberries, sliced, without juice (These are the frozen in a bag, not the sweetened frozen in a box.)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 9 ounce Cool Whip
  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups boiling water

Directions

  1. Lightly spray a 9×13 inch dish with vegetable cooking spray.

  2. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar, crushed pretzels, and melted butter.

  3. Press into baking dish.

  4. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.

  5. Chill.

  6. Mix 1 cup sugar, cool whip and cream cheese.

  7. Spread on chilled crust.

  8. Mix gelatin, boiling water and sliced strawberries.

  9. Pour on top of the cream cheese mixture.

  10. Chill until firm.
