  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • 3 & 1/12 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs.

  2. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with milk and vanilla.

  3. Roll out, cut with cookie cutters.

  4. TIP: I recommend chilling this dough…and if it doesn’t seem a good consistency for rolling out, you may want to add more flour.

  5. Place on greased cookie sheet. You can sprinkle with colored sugar at this time or wait until cookies are done and decorate with an icing.

  6. Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
