Butter Pecan Syrup

better than Ihop!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 c rum
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 4 Tbl. butter (NOT margarine)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  1. 1) combine water, sugar, rum, and corn syrup

  2. 2) bring to rolling boil

  3. 3) add pecans

  4. 4) boil until syrup thickens

  5. 5) if desired, strain nuts

  6. 6) add vnailla and butter, mix thoroughly

  7. 7) allow to stand – syrup should thicken some upon cooling – if syrup is not thick enough, boil again
