Turtle Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c butter softened
  • 1 c pecan halves
  • 2/3 c butter
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 c (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat flour, sugar, and butter on medium speed for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Press firmly into an ungreased 13×9×2 in baking pan.

  3. Arrange pecans over crust.

  4. Combine butter and brown sugar in a heavy saucepan.

  5. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

  6. Pour over pecans.

  7. Bake at 350 for 18-22 min, or until bubbly.

  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top; let stand for 3 minutes.

  9. Spread chocolate, but allow some chips to remain whole.

  10. Cool completely; cut into small squares.
