Pecan Tarts

Ingredients

  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c chopped pecans
  • maraschino cherry halves, optional

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter; blend in flour and salt

  2. Chill for 1 hour

  3. Shape into 1-in balls; press into the bottom and up the sides of greased mini-muffin cups

  4. Beat the egg in a small mixing bowl

  5. Add brown sugar, butter and vanilla; mix well

  6. Stir in pecans

  7. Spoon into shells

  8. Bake at 325 for 25-30 min

  9. Cool in pan or on wire rack

  10. Decorate with maraschino cherries if desired
