Butternut Squash or Acorn Squash

Personally I like Butternut Squash better but both are good and easy to fix this way.
I would give butternut squash 4 stars…acorn squash 1 star.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Acorn or Butternut squash per person, or less
  • brown sugar as needed
  • butter/margarine as needed
  • craisins (optional)
  • chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Directions

  1. Wash exterior of squash. Cut in half length wise.

  2. Place cut side down in glass microwave dish. Add about 1/4 inch water into dish. Cover tightly with Saran wrap. Poke only one very tiny hole in Saran.

  3. Microwave on high for about 5 minutes.

  4. Remove from microwave, flip squash over.

  5. Fill cavity with brown sugar and two pats of butter/margarine. (Also craisins or nuts if desired.)

  6. Recover with Saran. Microwave for 5 more minutes.

  7. You can serve one half to each person or cut into smaller serving size pieces.
