Cheese Straws

Savoury biscuit, nice as a party food with drinks and nibbles

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 7 minutes
Serves 20 people

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g plain floour
  • 100 g parmesan, grated
  • 1/2 t chilli flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg yolk

Directions

  1. Process butter and flour until crumbly, add chilli and parmesan.

  2. Lastly add egg yolk and seasoning to taste, processing until combined.

  3. Roll mixture on floured board to 5mm thickness, then cut into 1cm strips.

  4. Bake on paper-lined tray at 200oC approx 6-7 minutes, until crisp and golden.

  5. Cool and store in air-tight container.
