Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Asparagus
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • water
  • salt/pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Gently rinse off asparagus. Remove woody ends. The best way to do this is hold each end of the asparagus and bend. It will snap apart. Where it snaps apart is where the woody part starts. Discard woody ends.

  2. Using a glass microwave proof dish, I have one that is about 9 inches X 7 inches. Put asparagus in the dish. Add just a little water to create steam. Dot with margarine or butter. Lightly salt. Drizzle with lemon juice.

  3. Cover with plastic wrap and poke a couple holes in plastic wrap to vent. Depending upon size of asparagus, microwave on high for about 5-8 minutes.
