Ingredients

  • 1 bunch fresh spinach, washed, leave the stems on
  • salt
  • 1/2 stick butter/margarine

Directions

  1. There are two ways you can steam your spinach…I will list both:

  2. One way (Stacy does): Wash spinach, place in a steamer basket with just a tad of water in the bottom. You really have to mash the spinach down as it will wilt down…you need more than you think. Sprinkle the spinach with salt and dot with butter. Bring the water in the bottom to boil and sort of toss around the spinach in the top. Give it just a few minutes more and it will be ready.

  3. Another way (Linda does): Wash spinach and place directly into pot. You do not need to add water if you left water on the spinach this should be enough…if your spinach is dry, maybe add only a tablespoon or two of water. Spinach wilts down so use more than you think you would need. Sprinkle with salt and dot with butter. Put lid on, check and toss around until desired doneness…Ron likes his done.
