Steamed Broccoli

This our preferred way. We like ours pretty soft so you can cut the stems easily with a fork. You can cook less if you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 heads of broccoli crowns with stems
  • salt
  • 1/2 stick butter/margarine
  • water

Directions

  1. Wash heads of broccoli. Arrange in large sauce pan with stems down and crowns up.

  2. Add about 2 inches of water to the bottom of pan.

  3. Salt crowns and dot tops with butter.

  4. Cover and bring water to boil, simmer until desired tenderness.
