Buttermilk Pancakes

I very rarely have buttermilk on hand. The following can be substituted for sour milk or buttermilk in recipes.

Add 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1 cup milk. Stir and let sit 2 min.

It’ll curdle a bit, make sure to stir it.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/3 buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Directions

  1. Mix flour, sugar baking soda and salt. In another bowl combine eggs, milk and butter. Add liquid to flour mix.
