Original Chex Mix

I like more seasonings than called for so I kind of pile up the seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder. I add an extra tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce too.
Recipe also calls for a cup of garlic flavor bagel chips, I don’t care for these and compensate with more cereals. Some people will add Gold Fish snacks.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup bite size pretzels
  • 1 cup garlic flavor bite-size bagel chips
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Directions

  1. Mix Cereals, pretzels, nuts, etc. together in a large roasting pan.

  2. Mix together the butter, Worcestershire sauce, season salt, garlic and onion powder.

  3. Drizzle over the cereals, etc., and mix well.

  4. Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees. Put roasting pan with cereal mixture into oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

  5. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes and store in tin or air-tight container.
